"JUNIOR OF THE YEAR", LEAH IS TRIUMPHANT AT 2007 BRITISH HAIRDRESSING BUSINESS AWARDS

It was champagne and celebrations all the way for The Colour Room's 19 year old Leah Walton as she beat five other finalists to scoop the national award for "Junior of the Year" in the 2007 British Hairdressing Business Awards. Leah, picked up her accolade from ITV's most respected newscaster, Sir Trevor MacDonald, who hosted the glitzy red carpet awards ceremony at The Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on the 11 th September. To reach the finals for this prestigious award, Leah had to submit a comprehensive portfolio detailing why she chose hairdressing as a career, the hairdressing icons who have inspired her in her work as well as talking about the initiatives, events and special work she has been involved with at The Colour Room. She also had to submit a photographic image reflecting her own creative and technical hairdressing skills. The six national finalists then attended an in-depth interview in London with a panel of three judges from the highest echelons of the hairdressing industry. Leah said "It was the biggest thrill of my life to win this award and I had the most amazing time at the awards ceremony. It is wonderful to know that the quality of my work and the level of effort I have put into my career are considered the best in the country by the cream of British hairdressing." Owner of The Colour Room, Sean Tetlow, said "We are so proud of Leah's achievement. Winning Junior of the Year is a real launch-pad for a stunning, high-profile hairdressing career and Leah will find herself in demand with all the hairdressing media during the next year. The award is a true testament to Leah's passion and commitment to her career with The Colour Room."
