Renowned for his accomplished performances across all media including TV and radio as well as international stage and photographic work, Sean’s professionalism and undoubted hairdressing skills are increasingly in demand for high profile events within the industry and the national media as well as his extensive loyal client base. Sean is the regular stylist of choice for ITV Daytime Programming events including the Loose Women Ten Year Anniversary celebrations. With his beautiful photographic collections, Sean has been finalised for Regional Hairdresser of the Year three times – in 2009, 2006 and 2005 and enjoys his creative work and hairdressing commentary regularly gracing the pages of top industry and consumer magazines.
Having worked alongside Sean Tetlow for over fifteen years, Cath is one of the founding members of The Colour Room’s senior styling team. She has been with the salon from day one and has been inspirational and influential in the development of The Colour Room’s extensive loyal client base as well as the education and nurturing of the salon team. Renowned for unrivalled customer care, Cath specialises in helping clients to achieve their dream hair style and colour, putting in place an “hair action-plan” that can be spread over a few weeks or many months to take them to the desired look, always ensuring they look fabulous every step of the way. Having trained in the old-school of traditional styling and real hair “dressing” as well as keeping pace with contemporary cutting and styling techniques, Cath is a true master of her craft in every sense.
At the age of just 22, colour expert and Technical Director, Leah has already built herself a reputation as one of the leading lights of UK hairdressing. She has recently secured one of only four places on the highly coveted Fellowship for British Hairdressing 2011 F.A.M.E. Team which will bring international travel and the opportunity to work with some of the world’s most highly respected industry icons. Leah is also a member of the highly regarded 2011 Sebastian Professionals Cult Team which sees her travelling the country to take part in shows, seminars and photo-shoots for the Sebastian brand. With successes under her belt in all the major hairdressing awards and competitions, this former UK Junior of the Year and runner-up in The Clothes Show Young Hairdresser of the Year is now a veteran of national stage and competition work. A key member of The Colour Room Artistic Team, Leah’s formidable colouring, hair-up and styling skills are featured in the salon’s beautiful annual photographic collections. Holder of the sought after Wella Master Colour Award, Leah is also head of The Colour Room’s colour education at our Training Academy in Stockport.
Senior Stylist Lianne has been with The Colour Room for almost five years and is the perfect example of the nurturing of home-grown talent and the success of our in-house Training Academy. Lianne has risen through the ranks of Assistant, Intermediate Stylist, Stylist and now Senior Stylist with impressive speed and has built an enviable following of loyal clients who love her precision cutting skills and her flair for fashion and the latest trends. She is now passing on her considerable knowledge and skills within the team, playing a key role in the practical training of The Colour Room’s trainee hairdressers at our Stockport Training Academy. Her passion for great customer care has led Lianne to gaining her NVQ in Customer Care and her ever-growing client base is testament to her hairdressing skills and commitment to providing exceptional levels of service.
Always the life and soul of the salon, 22 year old Lauren has been with The Colour Room throughout her career, joining the salon straight from college over five years ago. As a Senior Stylist specialising in cutting and styling, Lauren now has a burgeoning client base who love her combination of creative flair and technical cutting excellence as well as the great customer care she provides. Her energy, enthusiasm and passion for hairdressing has seen Lauren reach the finals for Junior of the Year in the 2008 British Hairdressing Awards as well as securing a coveted place on The Fellowship for British Hairdressing 2010 Project X Team and reaching the Regional Finals for Wella Trend Vision 2010. During her year on Project X, Lauren made the most of many opportunities to work with some of the world’s top hairdressing photographers and industry icons, honing her session styling and stage work skills. As a member of The Colour Room Artistic Team, Lauren’s styling skills have been put to great use on our British Hairdressing Awards photographic collections, the results of which have graced the pages of the world’s top hair magazines.
23 year old colour specialist, Gemma has been with The Colour Room for over three years now. She started her hairdressing career immediately after leaving school, joining a city centre salon where she gained her NVQ Level II in hairdressing. Wishing to fulfil her career ambition of focusing on specialist colour work and obtaining her Wella Master Colour Award, Gemma joined The Colour Room in March 2007. Combining creative flair with her meticulous approach to colour work, in 2009 Gemma reached the Regional Finals of Wella Trend Vision and relished the experience of national photographic, stage and competition work. With her undoubted expertise and customer care ethic, Gemma now has a strong loyal client base and has built a reputation in the region as a skilled creative colourist with a specialism for colour correction.
Clare has been with The Colour Room for over 3 years having joined the salon as a Trainee Hairdresser straight from school, progressing through our in-house Training Academy to specialise in colour work. 20 year old Claire has been building up her own client base over the last year and has built a reputation not only as a great colourist, but as an exceptional “dresser” of hair with a particular flair for creating sumptuous curls, great blow-dries and up-dos. Her natural grace and beauty have also paid dividends for The Colour Room team on the many occasions that Clare has modelled for the salon in photographic, stage and competition work.
So committed is 27 year old Natalie to pursuing a successful hairdressing career that she relocated from Cornwall to join The Colour Room for its renowned training and hairdressing excellence. Leaving behind an idyllic beach-side life of surfing and a job in retail, Natalie returned to her native Stockport to join the salon in September 2009. With her delightful nature, professionalism and commitment to her role at The Colour Room, Natalie has had a remarkable impact on clients and colleagues alike and is a truly positive influence in the salon. She is progressing well with her cutting and styling training and has enjoyed her first session styling experience working back stage at local fashion events. Once her training at The Colour Room is complete and she begins to develop her own client base, Natalie can look forward to being a firm favourite stylist with our discerning clients.
Joining The Colour Room straight from school, Intermediate Colour Technician, Grace, has quickly proven to be an energetic and hands-on member of the team. Her self-confidence and proactive nature mean Grace is quick to learn and her practical hairdressing skills are developing at a great pace, making her a valuable member of the salon floor team. And with her easy manner, sunny disposition and ever-apparent sense of humour, Grace is a firm favourite with clients and colleagues alike. As she matures and develops her hairdressing skills further, you can be sure Grace will enjoy a highly successful and exciting career at The Colour Room. Definitely one to watch!
After a 15 year career in nursery education and whilst completing her degree as a mature student in Social Science with Social Policy, Catherine became our full-time Front of House Manager for The Colour Room in June 2004. Catherine’s commitment to world class customer care played a crucial role in The Colour Room winning the Customer Care Award in the 2009 British Hairdressing Business Awards. As the constant and familiar face and voice of salon, Catherine has built up an impressive knowledge of the individual preferences and needs of our clients, allowing The Colour Room to provide a truly bespoke and personal service to each and every one of our clients. Working closely with salon owners, Sean Tetlow (Catherine’s brother) and Claire Smith, Catherine is responsible for the day to management of our team of Assistant Hairdressers, running an efficient and proactive team whose priority is always to provide the highest level of service to The Colour Room’s valued clients.
Ever since she was a tot in primary school, Amber knew she wanted to be a hairdresser and she started her career aged 15 as a Saturday girl with a well known salon group. When she left school, Amber joined a local salon full time and stayed there for two years whilst she gained her NVQ level II in hairdressing. Wanting a career with a more challenging and forward-thinking salont, on the recommendation of her college tutor, Amber joined The Colour Room in October 2010 as an Assistant Hairdresser. She quickly impressed The Colour Room’s Creative Director, Sean Tetlow with her skill and confidence in cutting and styling and was promoted to Intermediate Stylist. Amber is now working hard to build up her own loyal client base as she continues to develop her precision cutting and creative skills. In 2011 she is looking forward to embracing the many challenges, hairdressing industry competitions and team initiatives that will inevitably come her way in The Colour Room’s fast-paced, dynamic environment.
