Nestled in the heart of the town centre on Stockport's historic Great Underbank, The Colour Room has rapidly secured its place as one of the leading hairdressing salons in the UK . Since opening our doors for business four years ago, we have enjoyed an unprecedented run of success in the major hairdressing industry awards. In 2004 we scooped best Independent Newcomer in the British Hairdressing Business Awards . In both 2005 and 2006 Sean and James Tetlow were finalised for Hairdresser of the Year, Midlands Region in the British Hairdressing Awards . Also in 2006 business manager, Claire Smith was finalised for Manager of the Year in the British Hairdressing Business Awards.

This year has seen us build even further on this success with Colour Techncian, Leah Walton winning the title of Junior of the Year in the 2007 British Hairdressing Business Awards ! In the same awards we also achieved finalist status for two other high profile awards with Claire once again been finalised for Manger of the Year 2007 , and, thanks to the dedication and initiatives of our our Customer Care Manger, Catherine Tetlow, The Colour Room was also finalised for the 2007 Customer Care Award.

Our hair collections and commentary are regularly featured in the major hairdressing industry and consumer press with numerous appearances during the last year in the likes of Hairdressers Journal International, Creative Head, Frizz Magazine, Your Hair and Hair Magazine to name but a few. And this year we achieved our first ever magazine front cover on Hair Flair & Beauty magazine.

As our name suggests we pride ourselves on our commitment to colour expertise and boast a team of five colourists who devote one hundred percent of their time to colour work, including two Technical Directors who hold the prestigious Wella Master Colour Award. We are also renowned for the technical and creative excellence of our cutting with a team of nine stylists including two Creative Directors and two Style Directors focusing their energy entirely on cutting and styling.
